The latest member of the Heartland Brewery family of restaurants, HB Burger is the only full-service burger-oriented restaurant in the Times Square area. It features comfortable and spacious seating, wrought-iron chandeliers, two bars and a compelling menu. Expect to find prime Angus beef burgers, a sashimi-grade tuna burger, specialty salads, “Must Fry’s” like tatter tots stuffed with bacon and Jack cheese, and homemade sodas on tap.
The thing that attracted us to this restaurant is that it is part of the Heartland Brewery chain. The good thing about that is that my hubby could enjoy the brewery's real ales and I could enjoy their root beer. The burgers were very tasty and the portions were more than ample. We chose a portion of 'Tater Tots' which were something new for us and were quite amazing. The service was very good in nice surroundings. Would return to this restaurant and would recommend.
The service and the food was quite good. Our server Alonea was polite and pleasant and a real joy. The only complaint, our take home slice of carrot cake was quite small, and overall portions are small.
A burger bar/restaurant close to Times Square area, HB Burger does just enough to provide an adequate meal. Decorum is similar to a pub, with wooden chairs and tiled floors.
I ordered the Kobe burger, which was pricey and definitely the American version of Kobe beef. The burger itself was moist and the bun was it sat on was tasty. The accompanying fries were soggy and left more to be desired.
In terms of alcohol, HB Burger has a great selection of beer (as well as in house beers) and is definitely a good place to stop by for such. The atmosphere is much older and the bar layout is a bit odd so I wouldn't recommend bringing a group of coworkers to this place. It'd be ideal for grabbing a drink with a friend or visiting relatives who have spent their day near Times Square.
